Having both worked in the fashion industry, we have always been behind the scenes during New York Fashion Week. We were thrilled to be invited this season as guests to view some of the most elegant collections this time around, and we had an amazing time doing so!
We would like to thank TRESemmé for making us feel just as chic as the models at the shows and presentations. They so generously styled our hair for us multiple days using some of the best hair products available, and their stylists did not disappoint! It is not the easiest time of year to look your best while running around in the snow in 20 degrees, but we could not have been happier or felt more glamorous when we left the TRESemmé pop-up at Spring Studios.
Josie Natori’s Fall/Winter ’16 presentation gave us some major black and gold moments that we can’t stop thinking about. The atmosphere at the Doubles Club was breathtaking in itself, giving off a classic vibe to set the mood for the presentation. The deep and rich textures and jewel tones included in the collection can be worn as modern eveningwear, and we even spotted some glamorous day-time pieces that we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on!
We knew that the Marissa Webb runway show would not disappoint, but wow! We had the pleasure of taking in her light and fun Fall/Winter ’16 collection, while surrounded by some of our favorite bloggers we have worked with in the past at Skylight Clarkson Square. The slight whimsical touch is what left us speechless about this collection. After the show we just kept daydreaming about different ways to layer and mix and match these pieces, and that is something unique and practical that Marissa Webb will always bring to the table!
The sophisticated O’2nd Fall/Winter ’16 collection was inspired by the Victorian Era as well as Frank Stella’s black and white artwork. The design details throughout the presentation embraced the high-vintage theme and left us in awe. The silhouettes coincide with the subtle Fall/Winter color palettes exuding a soft and feminine feel, and each piece was truly unique and artistic!
One of our favorite colors for Fall/Winter ’16 is without a doubt emerald. We will happily take this color in many shades, and Veronica Beard gave us our wish at her Gypsy Caravan presentation this season. The High Line Hotel was the perfect ambiance for her classic and fierce pieces on display, and we had far too many favorite looks! The collection gave us a warm and feminine feel, while keeping each look texturized and sumptuous.
We were so excited to view one of the many up and coming runway shows through AMCONYC, and we had the pleasure of seeing the Kréyol show towards the end of Fashion Week. After getting to spend some time in the Dunkn’ Donuts lounge (MUCH NEEDED!), we took our seats and we were ready to see this Haitian inspired collection at Studio 450. We loved these fresh, young, feminine and flirty pieces, and learned that they were in fact inspired by a quadrille, or folk dance dress in other parts of the world. We can’t wait to see what Kréyol has in store for the future, and we are so proud of this up and coming designer!
