We cannot believe that we are just 10 days away from our very first Lovely Happenings event! We hope that you are all just as excited as we are! In the meantime we wanted to give you a sneak peak into the workspace of some of our vendors and demonstrators that you will be learning from and shopping with on May 2nd. We spent the day in Brooklyn meeting with Caycee of Caycee Black, Alyson of Alyson Nicole, and Missy of Dye Grl. We were so inspired by their creativity that we couldn’t help but ask them a few questions. Take a look at their responses, as well as some of their latest creations.
What led you to start Caycee Black and how did you make it happen?
After working in the fashion industry for a fair amount of time, I wanted to find a way to incorporate artwork into clothing, since I have a background in both art and fashion. This was my way of merging the two together.

What do you see for the future of Caycee Black?
I see my artwork becoming many different things other than clothing. Since the artwork is the brand, I can see it crossing over into home and lifestyle items as well.
We are so honored that you will be a participant at our very first event. If you could give our guests any lifestyle advise beforehand, what would it be?
The most important thing is to be who you are and to be authentic. Own who you are, and that’s where all of the good stuff comes from.
What led you to start Dye Grl and how did you make it happen?
I have always loved colors as well as white. I have loved tie-dye since I was 12 years old, and I happened to be good at it! I had always wanted to make a line involving tie-dye, and so I started with a yoga bag and went from there.

Do what makes you happy. If something isn’t making you happy in your life then change it. Go for your dreams!
What led you to start Alyson Nicole and how did you make it happen?
In college I took a millinery class, and my sister was engaged at the time, so I made her hair piece for her wedding. After that I was encouraged by my mom to go for it, and it has been my passion while working full-time as an accessory designer.
