Our Spring 2016 Lovely Happenings lifestyle workshop event took place on Saturday, April 23rd. This particular event turned out to be filled with just as much inspiration and creativity as our past events, with lots of new faces and guests to meet. Take a look at our recap on the entire event in case you missed any of our participants, and be sure to follow them to stay up to date on their latest lifestyle lessons!
Guests had a chance to celebrate our Spring themed lifestyle workshop event at Dune Studios in SoHo in NYC. It was simply the perfect Spring Saturday filled with goodies and activities for both our female and male guests. Our guests enjoyed all of the lifestyle workshops while sipping mimosas & bloody mary’s and taking unforgettable photos in the photobooth. The day was filled with shopping, learning, laughter, our first ever “Man Moment”, inspiration, raffles, and giveaways!
Spring Fashion Panel
Our “Listen Up” corner kicked off with five inspiring fashion bloggers who discussed Spring Fashion as well as their favorite NYC spots. Featured on the panel was Allie of Pret A Provost, Mollie of A Stylish Side Project, Christine of View From 5 Ft. 2, Caroline of When & Wear, and Melanie of Lace and Combat Boots. We learned all the must-have pieces and new trends to try out for this season. As a travel blogger, she is extremely knowledgeable on beautiful locations, and she shared the best NYC murals for photo ops with our social media savvy guests!
Michaela @lifeofaladybear

Journalist and fashion blogger Dana of Daily Fashionista spoke to our guests about how to build your image as well as the in’s and outs of the industry. Our guests enjoyed her uplifting story, and will certainly remember her advice.
Jaclynn @jaclynnbrennan
Jaclynn, fashion industry influencer and founder of Blazers and Bellinis, is known for her empowerment towards women in the workplace and in everyday life. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, she was unable to share her talk with our guests at this particular event, so we urge you even more to check out her blog and social media!
Ali of Bitches Be Gluten Free interactively taught our guests how to make one of her many gluten free treats, “Bliss Bombs”! These are herb and spice blends that consist of aphrodisiacs as well, making for a fun and healthy energy treat! We hope that you take the time to make them at home yourself too!
Jessica @thesteelemaiden
Jessica of The Steele Maiden whipped up one of the tastiest cocktails we’ve ever had! Not only was her Lavender Collins recipe pleasing to the eye, but our guests couldn’t get enough of them as well! We know that many of you will be re-creating them throughout the Spring and Summer months, as it makes for the perfect cocktail party beverage.
Deepica @deepicam
Deepica of Deepicam is one of our favorite beauty bloggers for so many reasons. She is truly an artist when it comes to color correcting, and she is capable of lighting up any skin tone with the perfect products to contour and highlight. She demonstrated these techniques on our guests, and gave them the confidence to take what they learned and hopefully re-create the look on their own in the future!
Melanie @melaniesutra
Melanie of Lace and Combat Boots not only spoke on our fashion panel, but she also held her own DIY facemask station for the duration of the event! She taught our guests how they can create a simple moisturizing face mask using the ingredients from their kitchen, and each participating guest walked away with their own mixture to take home.
Priv @priv
Priv is an innovative on demand beauty app, ready at your beck and call. No matter the time or place, they are ready to send over their best beauty and wellness experts to fulfill your needs. This time Priv sent two of their best hair stylists and manicurists to braid and pamper! Our guests walked away with mini makeovers and a new app that they can’t wait to try out themselves.
Alexandra @lexiconofstyle
Alexandra is the designer behind her scarf collection Lexicon of Style. She spoke with and taught our guests all about the many ways to tie her scarves. They come in tons of different shapes, sizes, and prints. After this event, we know that we will be seeing many more Lexicon scarves on some fabulous women out in NYC!
Jen @_craftic_
Jen from Craftic is known for her bright, fun, and original crafts. She walked our guests through making their very own hanging decorations for their home! She also gave away adorable craft kits and held a giveaway of her very own.
FêteSimple @fetesimple
You may have recognized JoAnn from our first event when she spoke to our guests about the wedding planning industry. This time she was back with her new business partner Jasmine, as they debuted their new party planning company FêteSimple. In addition to providing information about their new company (and how awesome it is), they interactively crafted paper flowers with our guests to take home, as these are a party must-have in terms of décor!
Gingerbride House @gingerbridehouse
Amanda from Gingerbride House is known for her outstanding calligraphy creations. She makes greeting cards, stationary, and almost anything customized! Our guests had the pleasure of seeing her work first hand as well as walk away with some custom calligraphy pieces of their own.
Shinymix @shinymix_
Husband and wife owned jewelry company, Shinymix graced us with their presence at both our first event, as well as this one! Their pieces are just too good to resist, as they are on trend and original. Kathy helped our guests pick out the perfect pieces to compliment their style, and everyone walked away happy and looking fab! {We hope that our guests took advantage of the discount code they provided as well!}
Rania Dabagh Jewelry @raniadabaghjewelry
Rania Dabagh creates her Brooklyn based handmade jewelry line using stones, beads, and metals from all over the world. Our guests had the pleasure of shopping the collection just in time for Mother’s Day with some of her themed bracelets and necklaces, as well as classic pieces too! See more on her site here: Rania Dabagh Jewelry
Man Moment
We were so pleased with the responses from our “Man Moment” lifestyle talks and workshops! These acted not only as inspiration towards our male audience, but for our female audience to take notes for their guys as well.
Jamal @stylesocietyguy
Jamal of Style Society Guy kicked off our male speakers for the day with his advice on budget friendly styles, and friendly splurges as well. As an expert in men’s fashion, he had plenty of tips for our male guests, and even hosted a special giveaway at his table! In case you missed Jamal’s pointers, you can take a look at what he discussed on his blog here! {Password: Lovely Happenings}
Grant @grantfriedman
Our “Man Moment” speakers continued with Grant Friedman, photographer and street style enthusiast. Being married to a fashion blogger, he got the knack for street style photography very quickly, and by the looks of his work, you can tell this technique simply comes naturally to him. He was kind enough to speak to our guests about his tips and tricks to achieve the beautiful photos that he creates on a daily basis.
Sean @mrseang18
As the husband of one of our co-founders, we have seen first hand this man’s enthusiasm and talent for food. While he hopes to someday spread his talents event further, for now he simply enjoys cooking for his family and friends, and experimenting in the kitchen. Sean taught our guests a fun and colorful Frushi recipe, which made for a hands-on and informative workshop for our guests. Guests took home the recipe and instructions as well, so we hope to see some of you re-creating it!
Kismet Confections @kismetconfections
Kismet Konfections was kind enough to provide us with the most adorable customized mini sugar cookies for this event. We highly recommend that you follow along with the continued success of this adorable company, as they are taking the party and event industry by storm!

We would like to thank everyone who participated and attended our Spring 2016 Lovely Happenings event! It is crazy to think that our very first Lovely Happenings event took place one year ago already! After our third event, we once again met our goal to bring innovative lifestyle experts together with our everyday NYC guys and gals in order to inspire them by teaching them how to achieve the beautiful life that they are after.
We highly recommend that you continue to follow all of our inspiring featured bloggers, demonstrators, and small businesses. Be sure to follow along with Lovely Happenings by subscribing to our email list as well as social media for updates on the next event!
We want to thank Bridget Badore once again for a majority of these outstanding photos!
